• Congratulations to Camille Goblet (Masters student, Dr. Newell-Fugate mentor) who has received a 5-year Jacquemin Family Foundation scholarship to attend George Mason University (Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation) for her Ph.D. studies. Great job Camille!
• Congratulations to Cassie Skenandore (Dr. Long mentor) who received a $5,000 CVM Graduate Student Trainee grant entitled “Novel anti-TNF-alpha therapy to reduce inflammatory disorders in Equidae”

• For graduate students planning to graduate in Spring 2018, please be aware of the following important deadline: May 9 – Last day to clear Thesis and Dissertation Services to receive a diploma at graduation.
• Faculty and students are encouraged to do their best to schedule thesis defenses at times that can allow Dr. Suva to attend. I would very much like to attend all VTPP student defenses.
• If I have missed any VTPP trainee successes, please let me know and I will add those to the next VTPP Success
