academic regulia Colleagues, don’t forget to make every effort to attend Saturday, December 7th at 10:00AM; the first Texas A&M University doctoral commencement ceremony at Rudder Auditorium.  We have some students being hooded and it will be a great day for them.  I hope to see you there.  This is the new format for recognizing the accomplishment of doctoral degrees and hooding each semester to follow and Texas A&M University will no longer present doctoral hooding or diplomas during the ceremonies for undergraduatemullins and master’s degrees.

Please join me in congratulating Destiny Mullens (Dr. Ivanov mentor) who has been awarded a prestigious Hagler Institute for Advanced Study Heep Graduate Fellowship Award. The fellowship includes 12 monthly stipend payments and in addition, the Division of Research will pay some of the fees and student health insurance. These fellowships are highly competitive and Destiny is a deserving awardee.  Congratulations to you and Dr. Ivanov.

Congratulations to Marcus Orzabal (Dr. Jay Ramadoss, mentor) who won both the People’s Choice and Runner Up awards (which involved $$) in the 2019 Texas A&M University 3 Minute Thesis Final Competition – Doctoral Division. The event was held Tuesday, November 12th, 2019 at 5:30pm in Rudder Forum. Well done Marcus, it was a terrific presentation and event!
